The Alley of Plane Trees began to be planted near the flagpole, and at first there were only two trees there - in memory of Orest Kvach and Andrii Yurkevych, who stood up to defend the state back in 2014 and died that same year. But, unfortunately, that was only the beginning of the war and only the first losses. Today, the Alley of Heroes consists of 20 plane trees in honor of 20 warriors. Beside each plane tree lies a large stone. The stones are engraved with names and dates. Each of the fallen Unizh alumni inscribed his name into this war. And we must remember them. We want to believe that these young men do not regret their choice and that now, together with their other brothers- and sisters-in-arms, they are helping us from the heavens not to betray the state and the promises we have made to one another since 2014.
