Roman Chudyk was born on September 28, 1991, in the village of Lypa in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Later, the family moved to Ternopil. Roman graduated from Ternopil Lyceum No. 21 - the Ihor Hereta Specialized Art School. After school, he went on to study at the Viacheslav Chornovil Halytskyi College.

He received higher education at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, where he qualified as a lawyer. After graduating from university, he worked at the Kozova Tax Inspectorate, and later - in the construction sector.

He practiced free fight and was a member of the «Kharakternyk» sports club.

Roman Chudyk joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in May 2022. He was purposeful, brave, a person of honor and word, and always came to the aid of others.

During his service, he rescued a buzzard, took it to a veterinary clinic, and after treatment the bird was taken in by the Rivne Zoo.

The life path of the warrior-Hero ended on February 9, 2026, in Kharkiv region while he was carrying out a combat mission.

Roman Chudyk was buried on February 19, 2026, at the Pantheon of Heroes of Ternopil at the Mykulynetske Cemetery.

He is survived by his young son Davyd, who was born in February 2022, and his wife Mariia.

According to the decision of the session of the Ternopil City Council dated February 20, 2026, Roman Chudyk was posthumously awarded the title «Honorary Citizen of the City of Ternopil».
