Biography
Tryshkaliuk Serhii Rostyslavovych was the commander of a special purpose group of a special purpose company of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a Junior Lieutenant.
He was born on October 18, 1993, in the city of Ternopil. He completed 8 grades at Ternopil Secondary School No. 22, the Heroes of Kruty Lviv Military Lyceum with enhanced military training in the city of Lviv, and Ternopil National Economic University, now West Ukrainian National University, in the city of Ternopil.
He pursued postgraduate studies at West Ukrainian National University in Ternopil, majoring in «Software Engineering».
He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 2019. He served in the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; his last position was commander of a special purpose group of a special purpose company, military unit A6175.
He took part in the Joint Forces Operation in eastern Ukraine. He successfully carried out combat missions in Donetsk and Luhansk regions as part of a special purpose reconnaissance group. He was awarded departmental decorations, as well as a distinction of the Ministry of Defense - the breast badge «For Exemplary Service» (2021).
From February-March 2022, he took part in battles against the Russian occupiers. As part of a sabotage and reconnaissance group, he carried out combat missions in Chernihiv, Donetsk, including the area of the city of Bakhmut from July 2023, Luhansk, and Sumy regions. He was awarded the departmental distinction «Personal Firearm». Thanks to his leadership qualities, he received the primary officer rank of «Junior Lieutenant» and became commander of a sabotage and reconnaissance group.
On March 1, 2024, Junior Lieutenant Serhii Tryshkaliuk was killed as a result of an airstrike in the city of Hlukhiv, Shostka district, Sumy region.
On March 3, 2024, he was buried on the Alley of Heroes at the Mykulynetske Cemetery in the city of Ternopil.
He was awarded the Order «For Courage», III class (02.05.2024; posthumously), and medals.
Honorary Citizen of the City of Ternopil (19.04.2024; posthumously) and Ternopil Region (29.10.2024; posthumously).
On December 9, 2024, a memorial plaque was unveiled in Ternopil on the building at 10 Symon Petliura Boulevard where Serhii Tryshkaliuk lived.
